OSU Freestyle's first funraiser is scheduled for April 30th! We will be pairing with Buffalo Wild Wings on North High Street.
Stop by Buffalo Wild Wings at any point during the day and show one of our tickets to have 15% of your order donated automatically to the club!

To kick off the Spring quarter here at Ohio State, OSU Freestyle attended the Spring Involvement Fair with a booth and 1,000 fliers & stickers to hand out to passer-by. Our booth was packed with energy the entire 3 hours of the fair, and we broke out freestyle raps whenever we were requested to do so.
By doing this, we managed to snag over one hundred sign-ups, leaving OSU Freestyle a 200+ member organization! The involvement fair was an enormous success and we look forward to meeting all new membrs more in-depth at next week's meeting!
On that note, now that we have 200+ members on the mailing list, we finally figured out the ListServ. This means that you can now unsubscribe yourself if you get sick and tired of hearing from us. However, we urge you to stop by at least one meeting before you do so! No skill at all is required (we have plenty of members who come to just hang out!) and we're a lot of fun! To be added to the ListServ you can still hit the "Join Us!" button on the right side of the page.
OSU freestyle is proud to be newly sponsored by 1stStopHipHop.com - the premier Hip-Hop music blog in Ohio, founded in 2009 by a student at The Ohio State University. Through this sponsorship, OSU Freestyle will be able to use 1stStopHipHop's connections to the Columbus music scene to allow our most talented rappers to connect with artists in the area. We even hope to work with 1stStopHipHop to have our talented members open up for artists holding shows in the area.
Our members' mixtapes and recordings will also be released on 1stStopHipHop.com's blog, allowing exposure to an even larger audience. If you have a mixtape that has yet to be distributed to a large audience, here's your chance! If you're a member of the club, please e-mail a link to us so we can help you get your name out there.
In other recording/mixtape news, OSU Freestyle member Casey "Confidence" Barwick is holding his CD Release Party at Skully's Music Diner on Wednesday, March 9th at 9:00 PM. His CD will soon be available for download on our website, under the "Tracks" tab!
Please see the facebook event for more information on the CD release show.
We were recently approached by the National Museum of Hip-Hop - a string of museums that is in the process of founding its very first location in New York - and asked if we could help to raise awareness for the movement. As a prevelent hip-hop related club on campus, we latched onto the idea, and will be bringing the President and CEO of the National Museum of Hip-Hop - Craig Wilson - to campus to give a presentation on what the museum will stand for and how students at OSU can help.
More information coming later on; we will be advertising around campus and picking out a location in the coming weeks in anticipation of hosting Mr. Wilson sometime in late April.
Here's a quick video to share the vision of what the National Museum of Hip-Hop hopes to preserve. For more information, visit nmoh.org!
On Sunday of this last weekend (2/13), 12 members of OSU Freestyle made the short trip to the Oranjudio Recording Studio for a 5 hour recording session. Normally costing $55/hour to record at Oranjudio, we were able to record absolutely free of charge thanks to our sponsorship agreement with owner Zach Graves. Each of the members that went were able to record one track of their own.
There is now a "Tracks" section of our website where anyone will be able to stream and download all our professionally recorded tracks as they come out. Check it out to hear what we accomplished on Sunday!
All members of OSU Freestyle, when looking to get their tracks recorded, now have the following opportunities from here on out: They can either wait for a free recording session at Oranjudio where a group of club members go to record for a five hour span of time (and record one track each), or they can contact Zach Graves directly to receive a club members-only discounted rate of $25/hour for recording time all to themselves. Please note that the club will only go all together as a whole only a couple times per quarter.
Welcome to the brand new home of the OSU Freestyle Rap & BeatBox Club! We're extremely excited to bring this new site design to you all. Along with the new look, we have opened up a twitter page here and a new facebook page here, so be sure to follow us at both those places!
If you haven't noticed, not only are you hard of seeing but you're also missing out on the live twitter ticker right above this post. This ticker will display our most recent tweets with frequent info and shoutouts that you shouldn't deprive yourself of!
If a news post requires more explanation, we'll elaborate further right here on the "Home" page of our website in these news boxes. That's about it for now - be sure to take a look around the website and enjoy yourself! Oh, and make sure to let all your friends in on the new online digs.
If you were unaware, OSU Freestyle represented the organization with a booth at the Ohio State Winter Involvment Fair. We managed to rake in 30 or so new members, leaving us with a grand total of 64+ members! Thanks to everybody who helped out at the involvement fair and who showed up to the weekly meeting directly after - it was a busy night!
At the involvement fair OSU Freestyle was approached by at least 6 organizations around Ohio State who wanted to collaborate with the club to bring special events to campus. More information will be coming via tweets and e-mails in the very, very near future, so stay tuned for all the great stuff that the club will be bringing to campus! We're exploding in terms of events and membership and will continue to interact with other prominent clubs on campus. As always, if you are looking to book OSU Freestyle - or one or two of our members - for any sort of entertainment or event, we'd be happy to show our stuff any time and at any place. Be sure to contact us!
